Les Ailes d'I Ka(re)
“In this final step of the ‘I Ka’ project started in 2010 with a solo, and followed by ‘Les Ailes d’I Ka’ in 2011, I wanted to draw from the tradition of Gwo Ka, to extract a vocabulary, an energy, in order to connect the impression of my origins and my influences with my own choreographic writing style.
How can ‘bodies’, coming from different horizons, can find common ground while disclosing their own identities? This project is the outcome of research, about my identity, about who I am within a society in which prevails the idea of multiculturalism, of mixity, even though we evolve in a world in which people tend to isolate themselves, protect themselves.”
