L'échappé(e)
L’échappée is a one-man diptych entitled “The Speech”, with a female trio entitled “The Crossing”. The mangrove swamp, this delicate ecosystem in which we can lose ourselves, but also a place in which we can find freedom—a type of freedom that goes beyond anything that can imprison. Who can escape from there? How about being more than what we were “born” to be?
Through this performance, the mangrove swamp is the Antilles, its extreme complexity, the inextricable aspect of the situation that still allows openings, escape routes… The piece is inspired by two authors, two visions: Edouard Glissant, the creator of the “Tout-Monde”, and Maryse Condé, who advocates for rebellion and considers a world made from differences.
