Portraits inspired from the novel “100 years of solitude”, written by Gabriel Garcia Marquez.
“100 years of solitude” alters reality through allegory and the imaginary, with a pinch of occult. This novel is a discussion forum that gave birth to the myth of the gypsy Melquíades—giving birth to men, then giving birth to more myths.
Macondo, the representation of a microcosm isolated from the rest of the world, could as well be Colombia, or the idea of Democracy—through the story of the Buendía family, wars, construction, demolition, until the end, the apocalypse. The entire story is relatable, it can represent obscurantism, isolation, created by a fault in society.
